Casino Deposit Options

Author: Tom Shannahan

With the proliferation of online casino gaming sites, many people who considered games of chance to be pastimes only for vacations or special occasions have an exciting new opportunity. Online casinos offer the same games you enjoy in the casino, and allow you to play them from the comfort of your own home, according to your own schedule, without any expenses. Whether you are a casual gambler, or a perspective pro, the Internet offers a terrific opportunity.

One thing you will need to know if you are going to be playing online is how to load an online gaming account. You have a number of options to choose from in this regard, so take some time and decide which is best for you.

One option is to link your gaming account directly to your checking account. Your first deposit may take a few days while the site validates your account, but afterwards, transfers into and out of the account will be quick and easy.

For those concerned about the security of a direct transfer (although with a reputable site, they are extremely safe), there is the option of using an intermediary site, such as NetTeller or FirePay. These are sites that essentially hold your money for you, and will accept or make transfers to and from your gaming account and to and from your checking account at your request. These sites provide an added layer of protection, although there will be some additional time required (usually no more than a few days) for your money to make it all the way to your checking account. You can also have the intermediary site send you a check for any amount in your account.

If you prefer, you can simply have the gaming site send you a check. This may take a little extra time, as you have to wait for the check to be processed and then delivered.

If you live in the United States, credit card transfers are generally not an option. Due to concerns about local laws regarding gambling, credit card companies tend to shy away from funds transfers to online gaming sites.

All of your deposit options will be made clear to you when you first sign up to the site. After that, a cashier menu on the site will direct you to links you can use to cash out or deposit money using the method of your choice.

When you decide to cash out, you will receive a transaction ID which you should keep for your records in case there is any delay or problem with your funds transfer. When you deposit funds, you will receive a message letting you know when your funds have been received and are ready for use on the site.

Some sites, like PartyGaming, offer you an option to set a Deposit Limit. If you have problems with impulse control, this is a good way to keep a handle on your gaming activities. Once an amount is chosen, you will not be permitted to deposit more than the limit you have set for a seven day period. You may choose to change your limit, but this change will take 24 hours to take effect.

The most important thing is to find a cash-in/out system that you are comfortable with. When playing online, you want to concentrate on the game, not how you are going to get your money in and out. Picking a deposit method that best suits your needs will lead to an overall more pleasant gaming experience.
