Land O' Lakes Success Through Motivation

Author: Margaret Wommack

Because Land O'Lakes' transportation process needed revamping, they decided to find a transportation management system that could simplify the organizing of multiple carriers. Nistevo Corp, the web-based TMS they chose, helps identify contract and offer loads to carriers without spending hours on the phone.

Land O Lakes made sure that their employees embraced and understood the technology of the Nistevo project because that is crucial to the successful implementation of new technological systems. As Dairy Foods Division overseer Fernando Palacios said, "It's their system. They are the ambassadors. All they needed was the check to pay for it. I provided that, and they did the rest."

Private carrier Land O'Lakes employs a web-based transportation management system from Nistevo Corp. It automates the planning of 19,000 shipments made by the food company. This transportation management system made the shipping process more efficient and predictable for Land O Lakes.

Because Land O Lakes went with Nistevo Corp., their transportations costs have been lowered saving the company several million dollars without forcing carriers to accept cheaper rates. Nistevo allows these carriers to map predictable routes that occur regularly every week and to plan better to fill trailers completely which allows them to use fewer trucks and drivers.
